California Poppy Serving Bowl! Round Handles

This is a brand new form for me! I wanted a form that would show the sgraffito from above, and also give an opportunity to show the carved, naked red clay.

The bowl was thrown on the wheel, and the handles were slab built and attached by hand. 

I hope this bowl is the center of many a meal that brings together loved ones, or your singular love for a large bowl of cereal. 

In addition to its beauty, the California Poppy is also used medicinally to promote relaxation, decrease anxiety , and enhance sleep. 

Red clay, white slip, colored underglazes, sgraffito, clear exterior glaze, white interior glaze. Cone 6 electric.
